Matthew Florence, Cheryl Morris, and Laura Pearson completed the year-long “Gaston County Schools AIG Local Endorsement” (G.A.L.E.) training program. This program equipped them to work with academically and intellectually gifted students.
Belmont Middle School held a pie fundraiser to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts. Students donated money in advance and had the chance to “pie” a teacher, administrator, or coach. The fundraiser collected more than $4,000.
Belmont Middle School held a “Yes We Can” food drive to support Webb Street School’s pantry program. Homerooms and grade levels competed against each other to collect more than 2,000 items.
Belmont Middle School received a donation of school supplies from South Point Baptist Church.
The following Belmont Middle School students were selected for the North Carolina Music Educators Association’s middle school chorus: Liam Bain, Isaac Bansen, Charles Marks, Bentley McGugan, Easton Messick, and Roman Olivares.
The Belmont Middle School volleyball team won the county championship.
Paul Sayegh of Belmont Middle School won the Gaston County Schools Spelling Bee
Belmont Middle School earned second place in the robot performance at the RoboGASTON competition.
Belmont Middle School placed first in the Battle of the Books competition.
Belmont Middle School placed second in the Math Elite competition.
Belmont Middle School tied for third place in the Middle School Cheer Showcase.
The Belmont Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade band earned a superior rating at the Music Performance Adjudication (MPA). In addition, the eighth grade band and chorus will perform at the Disney Imagination Workshop.
