We are proud to welcome our new principal, Ms. Brittany Beckham. Ms. Beckham is looking forward to providing leadership for our school and working with students, teachers, staff, parents, and the community to give us an awesome school year with a focus on higher achievement and more reasons to celebrate.

Belmont Middle School offers strong academics, hands-on classes in career and technical education, visual and fine arts, and competitive athletics. Students can also get involved in clubs and activities.

Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually. This allows us to provide care for students without them having to leave school to go to the doctor.

Labor Day

Monday, September 7 is a holiday for students and employees. All schools and central department offices will be closed on Labor Day.

Board of Education Committee Meetings

The Gaston County Board of Education’s Operations Committee, Curriculum and Instruction Committee, and Policy Committee will meet Monday, September 14 at 12:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., respectively. The public is invited to attend. 

Belmont Middle Chorus earns Prestigious Statewide Honor

The Belmont Middle School chorus was selected as a 2026 NCMEA (North Carolina Music Educators Association) Middle School Choral Conference Performance Choir. The prestigious honor is awarded to only two middle school choirs each year and recognizes exemplary choral achievement, outstanding musicianship, and a sustained commitment to excellence in music education. The chorus will perform November 9 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem as part of the middle school choral conference. Benjamin McKinnon is the chorus teacher.

Earn High School Level Credit

At Belmont Middle School, students have the opportunity to get a head start on high school by earning credits in Math 1, World History and Spanish.

Clubs and Activities

At Belmont Middle School, students have many opportunities to get involved in clubs and activities such as battle of the books, math elite, robotics, and student council.

Athletics

Belmont Middle School has a strong tradition of success in athletics, with county championships in sports such as volleyball, wrestling, girls soccer, and track and field.
