Belmont Middle wins fourth basketball title
Belmont Middle School captured its fourth Gaston County Conference basketball championship defeating previously unbeaten York Chester 42-34.
The victory marks Belmont’s fourth conference title. The school also won championships in 2001, 2011 and 2022.
Middle School Cheer Teams Shine at Showcase
Gaston County Schools held the annual Middle School Cheer Showcase on February 27 at Stuart W. Cramer High School.
The annual event highlights teamwork and school pride, and all teams were recognized for their enthusiasm, spirit and strong performances.

Congratulations to our football team for finishing the season undefeated and capturing the school’s seventh county championship title.
Providing care for students at school
Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually.

The Board of Education will meet on Monday, May 18, at 5:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Schools Central Office, 943 Osceola Street, Gastonia. The public is invited to attend. Six employees received the most prestigious awards presented by Gaston County Schools during the Evening of Excellence ceremony.
Five outstanding educators are in the running to be named the Gaston County Teacher of the Year for 2026-2027.
The event combined robotics with an archeology theme as teamwork was a determining factor in the students’ success.
SUN Bucks is a program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that helps families buy groceries during the summer months when school is out. Eligible families will receive a one-time payment of $120 per child on a debit-like card. The card can be used to purchase nutritious food during the summer months when schools are out.
